Eliza Collins

Eliza has had a lifelong passion for dogs and all animals. Much of her childhood was spent exploring the banks and woods of her family home on Lake Champlain, Vermont, together with her faithful Welsh Corgis. Her love for dogs and nature remained dormant for years before Eliza realized it was her calling.

After graduating from High Point University in North Carolina, with a degree in Human Relations, Eliza moved to Arizona. She was introduced to professional dog training after accepting a management position at a busy board & train facility in Phoenix. Eliza was not content running company social media campaigns and client relations and quickly shifted her interest to hands on work coaching clients in private lessons and learning the art and craft of board & trains.

Three years later Eliza’s founded her own dog training company. She successfully ran every aspect of the business from kennel care, grooming and care to training every type and breed of dog while coaching owners and educating and managing employees. She loves working with people and finding solutions that meet the needs of her clients and their families. Eliza specializes in severe behavioral modification and offers added expertise in service and therapy work.

On a personal level, Eliza is an accomplished Schutzhund / IGP trainer and competitor. A highly advanced dog sport requiring spirited precision and skill. She has a special love for the German Shepherd Dog and together with her dog, Gambit, she obtained 8 IGP3 titles as well as successfully competing at multiple regional and national championships across the country.

Looking east for a more dense dog training community, Eliza moved to Virginia. She has found a home and environment where her experience and passion is realized and appreciated. Her skill set, energy, upbeat personality, relentless desire to improve and overall contribution makes her a perfect fit to head DLS USA. Here, Eliza is able to combine her lifelong love for the German Shepherd Dog and her passion for coaching others on how to effectively communicate with their dogs.
